Swedish speaker company Procella Audio is partnering with Trinnov Audio and Artnovion to create a state-of-the-art 22-channel immersive audio system capable of Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, and DTS:X playback at the upcoming at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) show, which opens February 7 in Amsterdam.

The 11.3.10-channel system will be demonstrated in a custom-designed home cinema and feature 21 loudspeakers and 3 subwoofers from Procella, Trinnov Audio’s Altitude32 surround processor and Amplitude 8 power amplifiers, acoustical treatment from Artnovion, and Sim2’s new Nero 4 Ultra HD DLP projector.

The speaker configuration will include three front LCR channels, three front-height channels, two wide channels, seven ceiling-mounted height speakers, six surrounds, and three subwoofers. Baffle-wall mounted Procella P815 speakers will be used for the left, center, and right channels, powered by Procella DA-06DSP power amplifiers. Three P8s, driven by Procella DA-05DSP amps, will be used for the high left, center, and right channels. Trinnov Amplitude8 power amps will drive the P6V wide channels, six P6 surrounds, and 7 P5 height channels.

The demo will mark the debut of Procella’s massive V18 Bass Engine, featuring dual “V-loaded” 18-inch drivers and said to be capable of delivering continuous output of 137 dB. Two Procella P15 subwoofers will be used for balancing.

System performance will “rival the immersive qualities of the finest cinemas and dubbing stages,” according to the partner companies. Whereas conventional Atmos processors are limited to rendering 12 discrete playback channel, the Trinnov Altitude32 processor supports up to 32 discrete channels.

One of Sweden's leading acoustical designers, Ingemar Ohlsson of Audio Data Lab in Stockholm, was enlisted to design the acoustical environment for the system. Ohlsson was assisted by the engineering team of Artnovion, which designed and provided the acoustical treatments.
