So Easy, Even Cordelia Could Operate It!

Hosting a Buffy the Vampire Slayer pajama party? Integra introduces a six DVD changer that will let go through a whole season of your favorite TV show without having to get up. The DPC-7.7 isn't some lowbrow unit either, featuring HDMI outputs and video upscaling to 1080i or 720p, though it won't do anything to fix Josh Wheadon's decision to shoot everything in a 4x3 aspect ratio (What were you thinking Josh???). Price is a super reasonable $400.

Don't mind getting up to switch disks? Integra's $500 DPS 6.7 is a universal player (as we previously defined "universal" before the advent of BluRay and HD-DVD – neither of which can be played on the DPS 6.7) that will upscale standard definition DVD to 1080i or 720 on its HDMI output in addition to playing DVD-Audio and SACD discs. Remember those?

If you're looking for a new receiver, the $1,200 Integra's DTR-7.7 offers seven 105 watt channels with some very capable video features, like transcoding and upconvsion of analog video sources to HDMI. It has a built in 2-In 1-Out HDMI "repeater" switcher as well. With a repeater switcher, you can pass multi-channel audio signals directly from your player to the receiver and forgo the usual coaxial or optical cable. That simplifies hookup and lets audiophiles erupt into a long argument about the sound qualities of wire once again. Long overdue.
