Coming in July: Affordable Hi-Rez Displays from NetTV
The new unit was unveiled at the INFOCOMM 2000 trade show in Anaheim, CA in mid-June. NetTV has been strong in the educational and corporate communications market for several years now.
The DTV36XW is accompanied by two smaller siblings with 4:3 aspect ratios: the 34" DTV34XC and the 29" DTV29XC. Both of them offer the same features as the flagship model.
NetTV has also introduced a 42" diagonal wide screen plasma display, the DTV42WP. An upgrade from the company’s first generation plasma screen, the new model offers 1280x1024 computer resolution as well as HDTV and is equipped with component inputs. All new NetTV models will begin shipping in July, with retail prices from $1,299 to $11,999.
The San Rafael, CA-based company claims over 100 resellers, and has received $18.1 million in venture capital funding, according to a recent press release. Part of this funding will be used to roll out NetTV’s ExtremeDVD digital entertainment system to the consumer market this summer, officials say. The system is "an all-in-one digital entertainment solution that combines the Internet, a PC, broadband connectivity, high-definition video, streaming media content, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, DVD, games, and home networking."
