Epson's Portable MovieMate 55 Projector
Just in time for some Indian summer fun, Epson is introducing a brighter portable projector that lets you create movie magic just about anywhere. This is a great combo unit in a 8.3 pound package complete with a built-in DVD/CD player and stereo speakers.
This is an ideal system to take on vacation, or just the backyard. It provides an image that can be eight times bigger than a 40-inch widescreen. Anywhere.
Keep reading for all the details on this fun, affordable entertainment option.
The Epson MovieMate 55 has Dolby Digital processing and an aux input to play music and videos from MP3 and iPods. The speakers are powered with an 8-watt amplifier. Not exactly earth-shaking, but adequate. Video games never looked better. It can play photos from CD or USB drives, and there's an input to make this your computer screen.
Projectors just get better and better. The MovieMate 55 uses 3-chip 3LCD technology and a E-TORL lamp with 1,200 lumens that provides "brighter, natural colors that pop off the screen."
The only thing that would make this even better would be to add a Blu-ray player. The MovieMate 55 is all you need for next summer's vacation rental. Fireflies optional. -Leslie Shapiro
