Does this mean there will always be two versions of Atmos for any movie mixed in Atmos, one for commercial, one for home? Is the home version mixed similar to the sound (DTS HD Near Field Mixed without the overhead sound) in the Oz the great and powerful?
I have watched the latest Transformers on blu ray using Dolby Tru HD with only 5.1 speakers. One thing I immediate noticed was that the sound of this movie was mixed a lot louder than that of other blu ray movies. Normally, I set my onkyo SR 806 at reference level 0 db for most movies, a few movies or concerts may be set at -3 to -6 db. For this Transformers, I have to set it to (minus) -16 db. Did Chris notice the loudness of the movie during his Transformers review? Does the object layer of the sounds mixed into other channels 5.1 or 7.1 during playback on non Atmos equipment? Therefore, it causes the increase level of sound on non Atmos equipment.
