This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Precision 6.1 satellite (purple trace), Precision 6c center channel (green trace), and TS 2.12 subwoofer (blue trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The Precision 6.1’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +4.17/–2.59 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 76 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 53 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.81 ohms at 224 Hz and a phase angle of –55.67 degrees at 111 Hz.

The Precision 6c’s listening-window response measures +1.25/–0.85 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +1.26/–0.61 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 63 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 40 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.47 ohms at 114 Hz and a phase angle of –40.25 degrees at 4.9 kHz.

The TS 2.12’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 31 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 28 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 95 Hz with the Crossover Frequency control set to maximum. Please note that the response is +4.19 dB at 42 Hz, making the crossover and level settings required for proper integration tricky at best.—MJP
