The newest addition to LG’s CineBeam series of projectors is a versatile $600 portable that can project 16:9 Full HD images up to 120 inches (diagonal). Sorry, no 4K at this price but you do get a smart projector that’s ready to stream out of the box.

First impressions of how it handled music playback made me emotional because I realized Apple has achieved that blend of performance plus stylish minimalism it is so well known for. This second-generation HomePod is a game changer because at $300 each, it only costs $600 to put a full-fledged, spatial audio-capable sound system anywhere you want and enjoy jaw-dropping fidelity.

LG made a splash this morning with its pre-show announcement of a stunning 97-inch OLED TV. As beautiful and minimalist as the display is, connectivity is the story here. Instead of delivering audio and video via HDMI, the TV includes the Zero Connect wireless transmitter that sends audio and video to the TV wirelessly in real-time at up to 4K 120Hz.

CES 2023 opens two weeks from today and the pre-show news machine is already in full swing. While the big-name A/V brands — Samsung, Sony, LG, etc. — tend to keep CES announcements under wraps until the eve of the show or opening day, tech startups are looking to drum up as much pre-show publicity as possible. One of the more intriguing announcements we’ve seen so far is what San Diego-based started up Displace is hailing as the “world’s first truly wireless TV.”
