Klipsch is paying tribute to its classic Heresy III speaker with a special-edition version featuring a matte-black finish and titanium-finish satin grille cloth.

Introduced in 1957, the Heresy is a “compact” three-way speaker Paul Klipsch created as a center-channel companion to the iconic Klipschorn speaker he launched a decade earlier.

The updated Heresy III stands 2-feet tall and boasts a spectacular 99 dB sensitivity (1 watt input measured at 1 meter), thanks to the use of dual titanium-diaphragm compression drivers — a 1-inch driver for the highs and a 1.75-inch driver for the midrange. Filling out the bottom is a 12-inch fiber-composite cone woofer.

Housed in an MDF enclosure with a removable base that tilts the speaker up, the 8-ohm Heresy III is rated down to 58 Hz (±4 dB) and capable of handling up to 100 watts of continuous power (400 watts peak). Maximum sound-pressure level (SPL) is specified as 116 dB, and the speaker is outfitted with dual binding posts for bi-amping or bi-wiring.
