While at the CEDIA 2023 Expo in Denver, I had the opportunity to visit Victrola's new headquarters and discuss the future of turntables and audio technology with Don Inmon, the head of product and brand at Victrola. The conversation offered a first look at Victrola's new Hi-Res variants of its two turntables, the Onyx and the Carbon, and explored the shift toward wireless, high-quality audio experiences.

CEDIA Expo 2023 offered an opportunity to peruse a plethora of audio and AV products aimed at the CI (custom install) market. Much of what's on display is excruciatingly expensive and targeted at wealthy consumers. Case in point, one of the most popular demos involved a home theater system with a million dollars worth of gear in it. At that price point, a $12,000 video player and $16,000 video processor seem like almost trivial expenses.

In the Integra booth at last week’s CEDIA Expo 2023, all eyes were on the recently introduced DRX-8.4 AV receiver, the lynchpin in the brand’s highly regarded AVR lineup.

CEDIA Expo 2023, North America’s largest showcase of smart home and AV entertainment technology, is underway at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. With an estimated attendance north of 18,000, the expo is the place where custom integrators and professionals engaged in the home technology test drive the latest products and services from more than 350 brands spanning 150,000 square feet of exhibit space.
