The CEDIA Expo 2023 that ended Saturday in Denver was a bustling showcase of the latest and greatest in smart home and AV home entertainment technology. Booth tours are a staple of any trade show, providing an overview of a company’s product lineup with highlights of its newest gear. Here we go behind the scenes with MartinLogan, Origin Acoustics, OSD Audio, and Sanus.

MartinLogan Makes a Commotion Over Expanded Motion Series, Celebrates 40 Years of Electrostatic Speakers
MartinLogan’s Andrew Lindsey walks us through its vastly expanded Motion Series featuring its “magical thin-film tweeter” and a diverse collection of speakers including an intriguing on-wall electrostatic speaker, super-car-inspired 40th Anniversary versions of the electrostatic speakers the company is famous for, and an extensive line of custom installation speakers. The crown jewel of the custom lineup is The Statement 40XW in/on-wall speaker, featuring 40 speakers, including 16 Folded Motion tweeters, 16 midrange drives, and eight matching woofers — all aligned vertically in columns.

Origin Acoustics Showcases Expansive Line of In-Wall Speakers, More
Custom speaker installation specialist Origin Acoustics provides a glimpse of its expansive line of in-wall/ceiling speakers featuring its unique quick-release mounting system, amplifiers, and all-weather landscape speakers, including the high-end Ambisonic series. The company also previewed a collection of highly versatile, multi-zone streaming amplifiers, based on the Wiim platform, that’s slated to hit the market early next year.

OSD Audio Brings on the Budget Gear
OSD Audio’s Simon Spears leads us on a tour that highlights affordable freestanding and in-wall/ceiling speakers and subwoofers, a super-flexible series of amplifiers for home theater and distributed-audio applications, and a line of budget-oriented outdoor speakers, including models with built-in LED accent lighting. The company also showed an IP67-rated weatherproof streamer for backyard applications and a streamer that brings music to four zones or areas in the home.

Sanus Provides Creative Solutions for Wall-Mount TVs
TV/speaker mount experts at Sanus showcased full-motion TV wall-mounting systems for indoor and outdoor applications, including one that extends 18 inches off the wall and one with an attachment for a Sonos soundbar and a cubby for hiding away small electronics like Samsung’s One Connect box behind the TV. The company also walked us through its selection of wall mounts and fixed- or adjustable-height stands designed specifically for Sonos speakers, including the new Era 100 and Era 300 speakers.
