Yeah, I know… AV Furniture is boring. Or is it? Cabinets and racks are actually an important part of the home entertainment equation, providing a place for you to house audio and video gear that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Ergo AV seems to hit both requirements with its new FlexFold Collection.

The furniture specialist has come up with a unique spin on the classic TV stand: A horizontal “low-boy” style stand/equipment rack with hinges that allow it to be folded in half before shipping. When the stand arrives, all you have to do is unfold the metal frame and attach the shelving to it — a task that takes about 20 minutes.

The stand is offered in three sizes to accommodate TVs with screens up to 55, 75 or 98 inches (diagonal). All feature a metal frame with adjustable feet and medium-density fiberboard (MDF) shelving with a black woodgrain vinyl finish; the middle section of the top shelf is fitted with a black tempered glass top plate designed to reduce glare from the sun or the TV and resist fingerprints.

The ERTFS1-01B ($500) is 46 inches wide and designed to support TVs with screens up to 55 inches and a total weight up to 300 pounds.

The 60-inch-wide ERTFL1-01B stand ($550) is designed to support TVs with screens up to 75 inches and a total weight up to 300 pounds.

The largest model in the FlexFold line, the ERTFX1-01B ($650) is designed to support TVs with screens up to 98 inches and a total weight up to 275 pounds.
