She’s Out of My League—Paramount Pictures (Blu-ray)

Movie: 2
Picture/Sound: 4/4
Extras: 2.5

Kirk, an average Joe, can't believe his luck. Though he's stuck in a seemingly dead-end job as an airport security agent, against all odds, Molly, a successful and outrageously gorgeous babe, falls for him. Kirk is stunned. So are his friends, his family and even his ex-girlfriend. Now he has to figure out how to make the relationship work, even though he's be the first to admit she's totally out of his league.

Typical dating comedy about a guy who has no self esteem that gets the chance to hook up with a girl who has it all. We’ve seen this one a million times and this one doesn’t bring anything new to the table. In fact, I actually got a bit fed up with the overall theme. It just wasn’t funny or touching.

Despite the relatively ho-hum story, Paramount does serve up a nice video and audio presentation. The photography is detailed with nice depth and dimension and color rendition is quite good. The soundtrack is what you’d expect from the genre and revolves around catchy pop tunes and simply dialogue.

Extras include some deleted scenes and bloopers. You also get a commentary with the director and a themed dating advice feature.

I’m usually a fan of these types of comedies but this one fell flat. While it tried to get an endearing message about how shallow people can be, it just never sold it.
