Micromega is not a company associated with speakers, so we were astounded when we heard how good the $349/pair MySpeaker sounded. It's part of the "My-" line, which also includes the MyAmp, MyDAC, MyGroov (phono preamp), MyZic (headphone amp), and MyCable. The speaker sits on shiny two-inch feet to allow the bottom woofer a chance to breathe, a design intended for close proximity to the wall. Bass was full and pleasing. Available in black or white vinyl. The kicker came when the company CEO walked in with a suitcase containing a prototype of the forthcoming active version, which will be powered by 40 watts per channel and is said to have even better bass extension. Target price $900/pair.
