After shelling out $3000 a year ago on a 65" LG C7 OLED, there is zero chance I am buying an 8K TV for at least the next 8 years. The picture quality on the OLED is simply amazing, better then anything I have ever seen.
8K is an absolute pointless exercise in adding tech that nobody needs in an effort to sell more TV's. There is already very little 4K content to watch and of what is available, only a tiny percentage of it is native 4k.
My hot take of the day...it will be at least the year 2030 before 8K content becomes even remotely commonplace. If TV manufacturers are looking to sell more TV's, find a way to produce bigger TV's cheaper.
