Vana Brings Upscale European Turntable to the U.S.

Lake Grove, NY-based audio distributor Vana Ltd. has announced the arrival of an upscale European turntable in the U.S. market.

The B-Sharp turntable ($1,595) from European Audio Team (E.A.T.) is a more affordable version of the company’s $2,500-$3,500 C-Major turntable that “sheds all of the non-essential cosmetic adornments… without compromising performance or mechanical integrity.”

The table, which uses the same TPE (thermoplastic elastomers) suspension system as the C-Major, has adjustable feet and is fitted with a factory-installed Ortofon 2M Blue Cartridge and E.A.T.’s new B-Note carbon-fiber tonearm, which has an anodized aluminum headshell and adjustments for VTA (Vertical Tracking Angle), SRA (Stylus Rake Angle), VTF (Vertical Tracking Force), azimuth, and overhang/offset angle.

Other highlights include a hinged dustcover, low mass aluminum record clamp, felt platter mat in addition to a low noise motor, floating chassis, aluminum platter, and low-profile MDF base. The table’s anti-skate mechanism has been “engineered for more intuitive calibration,” which is said to make setup easier than competitive turntables.
