CEDIA 2018

Perhaps the biggest new trend at CEDIA 2018 has nothing to do with audio, video, custom installation, or Smart home tech at all.

The outside of the San Diego convention center is littered with grab-and-go scooters. These are available for rental via an app; you pay for a specific use window, grab a scooter, and go. While the scooters clearly provide a quick and easy way to get around, the packs of unused ones littering the sidewalks are a hassle to wade through. Worse, the alternative, app-driven transportation method has been adopted by rude boneheads who scoot way too fast through crowds of pedestrians.
