Epson today expanded its Pro Cinema line with what the company is calling its “most advanced 4K home theater projector to date.”

With a rated color- and white-light output of 2,600 lumens, the new 6050UB 4K PRO-UHD projector ($3,999) is a three-chip LCD design with a motorized lens that uses proprietary pixel-shifting technology to display a full 4K Ultra HD image onscreen.

The projector supports HDMI 2.0 and features 10-bit high dynamic range (HDR10) processing with a 16-step adjustment to fine tune HDR performance, 12-bit analog-to-digital video processing for “smooth tonal transitions,” and proprietary UltraBlack processing to enhance detail in bright and dark scenes by controlling the polarization of light to suppress light leakage within the signal.

Other highlights include the ability to display the entire DCI-P3 color space in the projector’s Digital Cinema Mode, a proprietary 15-element glass lens designed for “zero light leakage,” enhanced image clarity, and edge-to-edge focus uniformity. A three-axis motorized lens accommodates a lens shift of up to ±96% on the vertical axis and up to ±47% on the horizontal axis for installation flexibility and 10 memory presets for storing a axis settings along with custom zoom and focus settings.

The projector features low Delta E for accurate color reproduction and includes ISF and CalMAN pattern generator calibration tools to achieve high image quality. In addition to a remote control, Epson provides ceiling mounts, a cable cover, a spare lamp, and priority technical support. Lamp life is rated up to 5,000 hours in Eco mode and up to 4,000 hours in Medium mode.
