HD-Day On October 10th: Warner To Release Seven Titles On HD DVD and Blu-ray; Universal Adds Catalog Favorites For November

The HD releases continue to pile up in time for the holidays, and Warner is leading the charge in a major way. On October 10th several recent hits and critically acclaimed films will hit stores.

Batman Begins, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Polar Express, , and the 1971 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory will be released on the HD DVD format. The critical hit Syriana and the Bruce Willis actioner 16 Blocks will hit Blu-ray.

The fascination and machinations continue with Warner supporting both formats. Of the HD DVD titles listed above, only Tim Burton's Corpse Bride has been released to Blu-ray, and both Syriana and 16 Blocks have been released on HD DVD already.

Having high profile recent releases like these out for this critical holiday season is important for both formats and for high-definition in general.

On November 28th Universal will be releasing the more recent hits The Mummy and Meet the Parents with the 80s cult flicks American Werewolf in London and David Lynch's controversial Dune.
