JVC TH-BA1 Soundbar Home Theater System HT Labs Measures
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the TH-BA1 soundbar (purple trace) and TH-BA1 subwoofer (blue trace). The left channel was measured in Stereo mode with its grille at a distance of 1 meter.
The TH-BA1 soundbar’s listeningwindow response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +3.20 /–5.86 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +3.47/–4.90 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 198 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 183 Hz.
The TH-BA1 sub’s closemiked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 62 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 52 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 124 Hz.—MJP
