Marantz today announced the addition of three AV receivers to its SR Series, including the 9.2-channel SR7013 with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro 3D immersive surround processing on board.

The SR7013 ($2,199), slated to ship in September, is joined by the 9.2-channel SR6013 ($1,499) and 7.2-channel SR5013 ($999), both currently available.

All three models support Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG high dynamic range (HDR), 4K/60 Hz and BT.2020 video passthrough, HDCP 2.2 copy protection, Amazon Alexa voice control, Apple’s new AirPlay 2 wireless platform (via a future firmware update), and hi-res audio decoding up to 24 bits/192 kHz, including DSD 2.8/5.6 MHz files. The SR7013 and SR6013 also support 4:4:4 color sub-sampling and the SR6013 and SR5013 are equipped with a phono input.

The models all support the Denon-created Heos wireless multiroom platform, Bluetooth streaming, built-in apps for a number of streaming services, including Amazon Music, Pandora, Spotify, Tidal, and others. Alexa control is activated by downloading the Heos Home Entertainment Skill App, which enables the use of voice commands to switch inputs, adjust volume, and play/pause/stop music.

The SR7013, rated to deliver 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms (0.05% THD, two channels driven), has eight HDMI inputs — including one on the front panel — and is equipped to handle 5.2.4-channel immersive surround setups with four height speakers in addition to providing 11.2-channel processing capability to bring additional channels into the fold. In addition to Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro 3D surround, the SR7013 supports DTS Virtual:X processing to deliver an immersive surround experience in setups that lack height speakers. The SR6013 and SR5013 have the same surround processing capabilities except for Auro 3D.

The SR7013 also boasts Audyssey Platinum automated room correction, which draws on advanced DSP algorithms and MultEQ XT32 processing with Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ to optimize sound quality. The SR6013 is equipped with Audyssey’s MultEQ XT32 and the SR5013 with MultEQ, both with Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ.

Marantz said a future firmware update for the SR7013 will unlock the HDMI 2.1 features eARC to support object-based immersive audio from TV applications and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), which automatically switches the receiver into low latency mode when connected to an Xbox One or any TV that supports ALLM.

Rated 8-ohm power output for the SR6013 and SR5013 is 110 and 100 watts per channel (0.08% THD, two channels driven), respectively.
