This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the X1T L/R (purple trace), SubSeries 200 subwoofer (blue trace), XC center channel (green trace), XB surround (red trace), and XA elevation module (aqua trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The X1T’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +0.82/–3.73 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3dB point is at 39 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 35 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.91 ohms at 195 Hz and a phase angle of –43.76 degrees at 93 Hz.

The XC’s listening-window response measures +3.81/–2.97 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +3.55/–2.78 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 69 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 59 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.85 ohms at 186 Hz and a phase angle of –47.42 degrees at 108 Hz.

The XB’s listening-window response measures +1.75/–3.09 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 59 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 53 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.32 ohms at 200 Hz and a phase angle of –57.14 degrees at 111 Hz.

The XA’s driver-axis response measures +2.33/–3.16 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 124 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 99 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.47 ohms at 251 Hz and a phase angle of –57.28 degrees at 136 Hz.

The SubSeries 200’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 26 Hz and the –6dB point is at 24 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 131 Hz using the LFE input.—MJP

I was wondering if I could place the XA modules on the shelf I have along the walls of my tv room? The shelves are about 4' from the floor and about the same from the ceiling. I have B&W speakers with the top mounted tweeter so no hope to have a module that is designed to go on top of these floorstanders.

Would 4 feet from the ceiling be too low for a atmos speaker to bounce the sound up? Also would being next to the wall also not work? I would place them on the wall behind the tv to avoid running wire all the way to the back of the room which also has no good mounting points.
