Hulu Plus Launches

Hulu Plus, long rumored and now launching, is a paid version of the popular streaming video site. While the free version of the site will continue to offer fresh TV episodes, the paid version will offer full seasons of current shows plus seasons of shows no longer aired. The cost will be $9.99/month.

Hulu is embedded in many websites in addition to its own. But it is also making some moves into devices large and small, reaching the iPad and iPhone via 3G and wi-fi as well as the iPod touch via wi-fi.

In addition, Hulu is coming to TVs from Vizio (through the Vizio Internet Apps platform) and Samsung (through Samsung Apps).

Also in development are versions for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 plus Blu-ray players from Sony and Vizio. Hulu is jointly owned by NBC Universal, News Corp., and Disney.
