Rotel Goes for the Silver

There's a whole new 15 series of Rotel AV receivers and separates, finished in handsome new dress (also available in black). The two receivers and pre-pro decode all the new audio formats via HDMI, and will pass 1080p/24 on HDMI (there is no video processing--a deliberate design choice).

Shown are the RSP-1570 Preamp-Processor ($2199) and the most powerful of the six amps in the series, the 5-channel RMB-1575 ($2799, 250Wpc x 5 into 8 ohms; 500Wpc into 4 ohms).

The 6 different amps come in either 2- or 5-channels (except for the RMB-1506, a 6-channel installation amp). And all but the two installation amps are class-D designs (including the amp sections in the receivers).

There are two receivers. The flagship is the RSX 1560 ($2599), with 100Wpc x 7 channels into 8 ohms (200Wpc into 4 ohms).

The Preamp-Processor (RSP-1570) and the two receivers (RSX-1550 and RSX-1560) will have Faroujda video processing and the RSX-1550 (5x75 watts) does not have Class D amps. Just the RSX-1560 at 7x100 watts does of the two receivers.
