Aperion Intimus 5T-DB Hybrid HD Speaker System Comparisons & Conclusion
For a small den or office system, Aperion's Intimus 4T Hybrid SD ($1569) offers 80% of the sound of the review system for a little more than half the price. The speakers in the 4T system have smaller cabinets outfitted with 4-inch woven-fiberglass woofers and a smaller 8-inch subwoofer. The 4T system features exactly the same build quality and Aperion's tremendous customer-satisfaction policies.
If you're lucky enough to have a large home theater, consider the Intimus 6T Hybrid ($3229) which includes the larger 6T towers and 6C center speaker, but it retains the 5DB surround speakers and Bravus 10D subwoofer. For rooms larger than 600 square feet, you might want to double up on subs. Alternatively, you can buy your Aperion system completely a la carte from their 4, 5, and 6 Series product lines.
The Aperion Intimus 5T-DB Hybrid HD succeeds on every count. It not only looks and sounds right, it's priced right, and Aperion's no-risk, direct-sales policies are hard to beat. Oh, and if you ask me, go for the cherry finish—it's absolutely stunning.
