McIntosh to Bring Audio Magic to All-Electric 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S

Future owners of Jeep's first all-electric vehicle, the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S due out this fall, will be richly rewarded with a custom McIntosh sound system guaranteed to turn heads in the showroom — and make driving a more pleasurable experience.

A follow-up to the no-holds-barred sound system McIntosh designed for the 2022 Wagoneer, which made a comeback after a 30-year hiatus, the new MX1200 Entertainment System boasts 19 speakers, including a dedicated subwoofer, driven by a 24-channel amplifier rated to deliver 1,200 watts of total power.

Coaxial speakers are strategically placed around the cabin to deliver a convincing sound stage. The coax speakers — each of which mates a 3.5-inch midrange with a 1-inch tweeter and is powered by its own amp channel — are complemented by four 6 x 9-inch door speakers and a powerful 12-inch dual-voice-coil subwoofer system McIntosh calls "one of the highest performing subwoofers in the industry."

A set of speakers in the rear liftgate round out the system, which McIntosh says has been meticulously engineered and tuned for the acoustics of the Wagoneer S cabin.

The system borrows patented technologies from McIntosh home products — including Power Guard, which monitors and adjusts incoming audio signals in real-time to prevent distortion and clipping — and can be operated via an in-vehicle app that complements Jeep’s Uconnect platform. As you can see from the photos, the system remains true to McIntosh’s inimitable design with the brand’s iconic logo illuminated in the grille cover of each door speaker and signature blue power meters front and center in the dashboard display.

McIntosh's partnership with Jeep began in 2021 with the launch of its first car entertainment system in the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Three years later, McIntosh audio is available the Wagoneer, Wagoneer L, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer L, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Grand Cherokee 4xe models.

And should it considering that FM is less prone to interference and satellite and phone-connected streaming opportunities abound?

Those pretty simulated meters need to be off while driving. It would distract me too much. An electric car is good for a nice stereo system. I have seemm 1000 HP Dodges with high end stereos, seems kind of silly.
