Integra today introduced a low-profile network AV receiver and a soundbar-based system designed for object-based Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound.

The DLB-5 soundbar system ($1,200) comprises a passive soundbar with eight drivers (dual left, dual right, dual center, and dual height), a wireless standalone 50-watt subwoofer with a 6.5-inch driver, and a 2.75-inch-tall AV receiver/control unit that connects to the soundbar to create a 3. 1.2-channel surround-sound setup. Two of the soundbar’s six drivers fire up from the top of the unit to bounce height effects off the ceiling.

Rated as “50 watts/channel” (4 ohms at 1 kHz), the receiver supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround processing plus four wireless platforms—Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay, FireConnect—and has four 4K/60Hz HDMI ports, each compatible with HDCP 2.2 copy protection, HDR10 dynamic range, and the BT.2020 color space. The receiver will also support the DTS Play-Fi multiroom streaming platform via a “future firmware update,” includes Integra’s AccuEQ calibration system, and upscales 1080p video to 4k UltraHD.

Standing only 3 inches tall and weighing less than 9 pounds, the DSX-3 6.1-channel AV receiver ($600) has a similar form factor as the HT-D03 receiver included in the DLB-5 package and will also support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround processing when a “firmware update expected in 2017” becomes available. Wireless and HDMI connectivity options are the same as the HT-D03 and the receiver supports Tidal, Pandora, Spotify, and TuneIn streaming services. The receiver adds hi-res capability and a 384 kHz/32-bit Asahi Kasei DAC.

The DSX-3 and DLB-5 include IP control with support for two-way communication with third-party home automation systems.
