A pregnant porn star, a couple of call girls, a scorned psychiatrist, a teenage goth, a flight attendant with a crush on a famous passenger… the troubles of this cluster of LA women couldn’t be more different, but on one crazy day feminine compassion will alter all of their lives. Devilish humor, razor-sharp scripting, and a knockout ensemble of talented actresses turn trouble into pure pleasure.

This ended up being a fun little character piece with lots of great stars. Sure the production value is a bit low, but the story manages to shine through and the cast turn in fairly solid performances all around. The film does the recently popular intersecting storylines with each story following a different woman in a different dramatic position. I was afraid this would fall into the typical rom-com genre or just lean too far to the woman centric cinema but thankful it didn’t do either and made for a pretty good time.

You can tell this was shot on a shoe string budget, but in the end it didn’t really matter. The image looks fine for an art house film and I only saw some minor banding here and there. Detail isn’t up to par with most Blu-ray releases, but it wasn’t horrible. The soundtrack is mainly the same and manages to do the film justice with its interesting song selections and minor ambiance.

This is definitely a girl film, but I think the male audience will still enjoy it. While I wouldn’t recommend a purchase based on replay value, a rental could be fun.
