James Loudspeaker Introduces ‘Ultimate Landscape Speaker’
The Omni48AT landscape satellite speaker and Omni89AT satellite/subwoofer package are designed to project sound in an omnidirectional radiation pattern and feature proprietary purpose-built drivers mounted in a marine-grade aluminum enclosure.
The 8 x 11 x 11-inch Omni48AT (right) uses eight speakers to project sound 360 degrees. Each of its four sides has a two-way speaker complement with a 0.75-inch aluminum-dome tweeter coaxially mounted over a high-excursion 4-inch aluminum-cone woofer.
The Omni89AT (left) is a three-way system that mates the Omni48AT with a matching subwoofer base with a down-firing 8-inch subwoofer. The combined units stand 17.4 inches tall.
The speakers are designed for unobtrusive placement in rocky landscape areas where traditional satellite/in-ground subwoofers cannot be installed or around a large seating area.
Both models are available in 4-ohm or 70-volt versions to accommodate any system architecture; the 70-volt models use “high-quality, low-loss, toroidal transformers.” James also offers a bi-amplified configuration, said to allow more control over bass performance, for custom order.
Fifteen finishes—including black wrinkle, bronze wrinkle, and weathered iron—come standard or James will custom-match any color or coating for an extra charge.
Pricing (each) is as follows: Omni48AT4 4-ohm, $1,000; Omni48AT70 70-volt, $1,100; Omni89AT4 4-ohm, $1,800; and Omni89AT70 70-volt, $2,000.
