LG Adds ‘Hulu with Live TV’ to Smart TVs

LG has announced an updated user interface (UI) for its 2017 and 2018 smart TVs that includes Hulu with Live TV, a streaming subscription plan that provides live sports, news, and entertainment from more than 50 channels in addition to the Hulu library of TV series and movies.

The live TV streaming service, which was launched last year and costs $39.99/month, is available on all TVs with LG’s WebOS 3.5 platform or higher and some 2016 models, including all Roku TV models and certain WebOS 3.0 TVs. Current LG TV owners that subscribe to Hulu will have to update their subscription plan to take advantage of the live TV service. New subscribers get one week free before the monthly fee kicks in.

Hulu with Live TV lets viewers stream on iOS, Android, Roku, and a half-dozen other devices, create personal profiles and custom TV lineups, and record live TV with 50 hours of Cloud DVR storage.
