We thank Shane for his usual in-depth review of our breakthrough BH100 "Super Blu" multi-format player. As he points out, a great desire exists among consumers (although we hesitate to call them "unwashed") to purchase a next-gen player without wasting money on "a good sized paperweight or undersized boat anchor." We believe that the BH100 will satisfy this need beautifully.

Consumer confusion remains and solutions like the BH100 will be the catalyst to motivate and establish confidence among customers wanting that hi-def experience. The benefit of this product is perfectly captured in the first of the "Highs" listed at the end of the article: "Plays BDs & HD DVDs with superb resolution." That's what it's all about. It plays both.

My own Netflix queue includes Casino Royale (exclusively on Blu-ray Disc), Children of Men (exclusively on HD DVD) and Blood Diamond (available on both). I didn't have to think about the format of the disc, I simply chose what I wanted to see and can play whatever format shows up. Everyone should have this "power of choice." We believe that the consumer shouldn't be limited by an industry's format battle.

Like all purchase decisions, consumers will evaluate this product to weigh the positives against the negatives, based on features and capabilities most important to them. To-date, the positive response to this product has confirmed our belief in its value.

Finally, while we disagree with your non-recommendation, we do agree with the summary statement the LG "has a lot to be proud of and a lot to build on." As an industry leader, LG will continue to develop new and innovative products. We are indeed proud of the BH100 and are confident that it will be a prized addition to anyone's home theatre system.
