Online retailer Monoprice debuted seven new models in the company’s Amber series of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. The in-wall models feature carbon-fiber midrange and bass drivers with planar-ribbon tweeters. The in-ceiling models incorporate carbon fiber bass drivers coupled with folded-ribbon tweeters. The in-walls include rectangular, paintable, magnetic grilles. The in-ceiling models come with round, paintable, magnetic grilles. Both styles of grilles have very slim bezels. To help fine tune the speakers’ response in different room acoustical environments, all the models have built-in high-frequency attenuators with 0, -3, and -6 dB selection options.

Notable in the new lineup is the Amber In-Wall Speaker Center Channel Dual 5.25-inch 3-way Carbon Fiber with Ribbon Tweeter that features a pair of 5.25-inch carbon fiber mid/bass drivers with a three-inch carbon fiber midrange. A 4.5-inch x 3-inch planar ribbon tweeter is mounted above the midrange driver. Frequency response is rated by the company down to 63 Hz. The new in-ceiling models include a ported slot with a rear-mounted cover plate that can be removed when the speakers are installed with back-box enclosures to increase bass output.

The new Amber Series architectural speakers range from $119.99/pair to $189.99/pair. The horizontally oriented Amber center channel is $139.99/each. All models are expected to begin shipping in October of this year.
