In the bohemian underground of World War II London, a stirring love story ignites amonglegendary poet Dylan Thomas and the two extraordinary women who inspire him - Caitlin, his free-spirited wife, and Vera, his childhood sweetheart who still maintains a place in his heart. Despite their romantic rivalry, the two women form a surprisingly close bond. But when Vera's husband returns from the war, jealousy erupts and threatens the trio's fragile happiness.

One part drama, one part romance, this period piece follows the lives of 4 people and their love story through World War II. The story is interesting enough and I loved the performances by all but the story does drag at times. The film's themes have been done before but the change in style is refreshing. Overall I found this one entertaining, but I'm not sure how much replay value it may have.

The film was shot with digital cameras and the end results make for a spectacular Blu-ray presentation. The filming style has some inconsistencies in the overall look with some fine detail being obviously smoothed over. Colors are exquisite with lots of pop and detail and the image has a very dimensional look to it. Contrast is strong with inky blacks and shadow detail can suffer a bit from time to time. Still, this is a remarkable looking film that provides plenty of eye candy from the transfer and cast alike.

The 5.1 mix is very engaging with a nice open spatial design and plenty of surround activity. Some of the bombing sequences do a great job with subtle background imaging that was reminscent of Saving Private Ryan in its effectiveness. Dialogue is always clear and distinct and imaging across all channels is solid.

Extras include a feature commentary along with a gag reel and behind the scenes footage from the production.

While I don't know if I would recommend adding this one to a collection it is certainly one to check out if you're a fan of great character pieces set in wartime. The presentation is outstanding and the casting in this one is terrific.
