JVC Wows the Crowd
The big news for the rest of us, however, is the introduction of two new JVC projector models, the DLA-HD350 and the DLA-HD750, which are nearly identical physically (shown) and noticeably narrower than the current JVC models. (There are also two functionally identical models from the JVC Pro division, the RS-10 and the RS-20). The new designs are said to offer higher brightness than any of the current JVC home theater models, but also offer a multi-step (fixed) aperture to dial in the appropriate brightness for any screen.
Both models offer full while balance controls—both high and low (a notable shortcoming of the current designs) and the DLA-HDHD750 (and the RS-20) have a full color management system. The DLA-HD750 (and the RS-10) are also THX certified. Both models also have fully powered lenses (zoom, focus, and shift) and a powered lens cover to protect the lens when not in use. Pricing should be just under $7000 for the DLA-HD750 and under $6000 for the DLA-HD350 (with similar prices on the pro models).
