In a remote jungle in Central America, the original Predator follows an elite group of commandos led by Major Dutch Schaeffer (Schwarzenegger) who embark on a mission to clear out a guerrilla stronghold and rescue hostages. But once in the heart of the jungle, the hunters become the hunted when a highly intelligent, otherworldly creature slowly and methodically starts killing members of Dutch's team. Possessing a chameleon-like camouflaging ability and a deadly arsenal, the alien tracks down the soldiers one by one.
In the three-disc collection, Predator is followed by 1990’s Predator 2, in which hardheaded cop Danny Glover battles the predator in the urban jungle of Los Angeles. Finally, in Predators, Adrien Brody leads a group of elite warriors who find themselves on an alien planet targeted by a vicious new breed of predators in the ultimate showdown between hunter and prey.
Predator bonus features include several featurettes — Predator: Evolution of a Species–Hunters of Extreme Perfection, If It Bleeds, We Can Kill It: The Making of Predator, Inside the Predator, Special Effects, and Short Takes with the Filmmakers — in addition to an audio Commentary by director John McTiernan, text Commentary by film historian Eric Lichtenfeld, deleted scenes and outtakes, a photo gallery, and a Predator profile.
Films in both packages were shot in 1.85:1 and have DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtracks. Running time is 107 minutes for Predator and 322 minutes for the three-disc set.
