'Apocalypse Now' coming to Blu-ray soon
This year is seeing some of the greatest movies ever made hit Blu-ray. First Criterion announced that it will be releasing Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai on Blu-ray Disc this fall, and now Lionsgate has announced that Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now is finally hitting Blu-ray.
The film will hit stores October 19, and will be available in two versions. A "standard" two-disc edition will include both Apocalypse Now and Apocalypse Now Redux, along with nine hours of additional content, while the "Full Disclosure Edition" includes a third disc with Hearts of Darkness, the 1991 documentary on the making of Apocalypse Now.
