Atlantic Technology Ships Flagship Subwoofers
The line kicks off with two ported models: the SBT-500, featuring a 500-watt amplifier and dual 10-inch drivers ($1,799), and the SBT-1000 with 1,000 watts and dual 12-inch drivers ($2,499).
Both models are built around long-throw composite-cone drivers with 2-inch voice coils and vented motor structures, a patented Audera Class LH (linear hybrid) amplifier with high-current capability for “exceptional driver control and headroom,” and a continuously adjustable 40-140 Hz, 24-dB/octave low-pass crossover for improved blending with satellite speakers.
The amplifiers used in both models are cool running high-efficiency designs that replace “typical compressor-limiter distortion reduction” with proprietary Clear Filter Technology (CFT) circuitry designed to enhance upper bass articulation and detail by reducing resonance colorations, Atlantic Technology said.
Common features include switches for low-pass/bypass and phase, an EQ switch with Max SPL and Max Range positions (the latter for deeper bass extension with restricted maximum output), a three-position power switch with signal sensing, and a choice of unbalanced RCA or balanced XLR inputs.
Cabinets are made of braced MDF finished in satin or high-gloss black.
