Samsung today unveiled the Ryder Cup TV App, which provides a new way for golf lovers to interact with this year’s Ryder Cup at home or on-the-go. Developed in collaboration with Turner Sports and the PGA of America, the app provides live scores, access to behind-the-scenes video footage, and “virtual hole flyovers” with details about course.

Highlights of the app include:

• Broadcast mode: Viewers can toggle between live video feeds (on NBC and Golf Channel) and launch an interactive leaderboard to keep tabs on favorite golfers.
• Multiscreen action: Viewers can pair their TV and mobile devices using a companion Android app so they can watch live action and access supplemental content on a smartphone/tablet or “cast” content onto the TV screen.
• Shopping: Viewers can purchase official merchandise, including Team USA uniforms.

The Ryder Cup TV App is available on select 2013 and 2014 Samsung smart TVs via Samsung’s Smart Hub. The 2014 Ryder Cup, taking place at Gleneagles in Perthshire, Scotland, starts today and runs through Sunday.
