Audience, the San Marcos, CA-based maker of high-end power products, has introduced an eight-outlet power conditioner that offers a “very high quality AC platform at an extremely affordable price.”

The forte V8 ($895) houses eight hospital-grade outlets in an extruded aluminum chassis. Each outlet is wired to a copper buss bar in a star ground configuration with high-purity 14-gauge stranded copper wire and has an RF (radio frequency) filter.

The V8 includes a standard IEC power cord and does not include the surge or overload protection built into higher-priced models. Audience treats all parts in the electric circuit with cryogenics and a proprietary “extreme high-voltage process” to improve performance.

“Substantial listening evaluations were performed for every element, over an 18 month R&D period,” the company says. “Although, the V8 was designed to be an affordable power block, corners were not cut at the sacrifice of good sound quality.

“The resulting V8 product lives up to the usual standard for Audience power products of ‘do no harm.’ In fact, the forte V8 Power provides a musically balanced high resolution solution.”
