AudioControl Ships Atmos/Dirac Receivers

AudioControl is now shipping the Dolby Atmos-enabled 7.1.4-channel Concert AVR-7 and Concert AVR-9 receivers the company previewed at CEDIA last fall.

Priced at $4,200 for the AVR-7 and $6,200 for the AVR-9, both models are 4K-ready, support HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2, and feature Dirac Live room correction processing.

The primary difference between the models is power: 7 x 100 watts for the AVR-7 and 7 x 200, both into 8 ohms. Both offer robust connectivity, including seven HDMI inputs, six digital inputs—four coax and two optical—six stereo analog inputs, a USB input, and ARC-compatible second-zone HDMI outputs.

In addition to Atmos, both receivers are DTS-X ready and equipped with Dolby True HD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, and DTS-HD Master Audio surround modes.

Designed with custom installation in mind, both models have Ethernet and RS232 connectivity and are compatible with control systems from Control4, Crestron, RTI, and Savant.

Designed and built in Seattle, AudioControl products carry a five-year warranty and are not sold online; they are available only through authorized dealers.

The article said the AVR-7 is 7.1.4. This is not the case, as the receiver has only 7 channels and additional amplifiers are needed to get 7.1.4.
