Automation controller company BitWise Controls came to CEDIA to celebrate the company’s fourth birthday and announce the upcoming availability of the BitWise Access Anywhere subscription service. BitWise’s AccessAnywhere will enable homeowners to access and control their BitWise home automation system from anywhere the homeowner has internet access, anywhere in the world, via a smartphone or tablet. The service requires a BitWise BC1 or BC2 controller in the homeowner’s system. The subscription service is currently in beta testing, but is expected to be ready to go with select dealers in October. Pricing has not been determined.

BitWise also showed off a new RF handheld remote control for use in home theater rooms where homeowners would like to add a fixed handheld controller instead of using their smartphone or tablet.
