It's that time of year when lists start coming out. Kind of like New Year's resolutions -- unavoidable this time of the year. However, there are two lists that are quite interesting.

The first is one right here at Sound & Vision. It's a list of movies we all wish were available on Blu-ray. Ones that might inspire us to rush out and finally embrace the technology. Who can argue with titles like Alien, Jurassic Park, Gone with the Wind, Star Wars, and The Lord of the Rings? The other list is of "must haves" for your home theater.

This list was compiled by Popular Mechanics. The list included titles such as Blade Runner, No Country For Old Men, The Godfather Trilogy, 2001:A Space Odyssey, The Last Emperor, and more. They point out what you should look for on the Blu-rays, that you might have missed on the DVD, or not noticed in the lower-res transfers.
