Most folks acknowledge that a certain faction of the video industry fueled the rapid growth of both VHS technology and more recently, DVD Video. Now, Digital Playground,(link is not appropriate for work or kiddies) a leader in the adult video biz just announced that they're simultaneously launching DVD and Blu-ray releases of all their newest flics. Blue movies never looked so good.

In total, Digital Playground will have 21 movies on Blu-ray by next week, and promises to release older titles from their library on Blu-ray each and every week. With so much extra capacity on Blu-ray, who knows else Digital Playground can insert on the discs. Even more compelling -- whatever will they use the soon-to-be-added BD-Live features for? 

With mainstream video releases failing to give rise to the Blu-ray revolution, perhaps this is just the kick in the pants the Blu-ray industry needs.-Leslie Shapiro
