B&W has an answer for you: the AS1 powered subwoofer. Bigger than a bread box, but not by much, the AS1 measures only 15" H x 9.8" W x 15" D, and weighs only 24 lbs., yet it houses an 85-Watt amplifier backing a long-throw, magnetically shielded 6.5" woofer. The small sub is capable of clean bass frequencies as low as 27Hz thanks to its active vented-box design. The AS1's frequency response is ±3dB 34Hz - 75Hz.

Setup and adjustment are easy; AS1's control panel is mounted on the top rather than the rear. Input signal can be delivered via line level inputs or spring-loaded speaker terminals. Operation can be optimized for music or movie use with a mode switch. The vinyl-coated AS1 is available in either black ash with black grille or in silver with a gray grille. Retail price is $250.
