CES 2009: Day two - Panasonic Easy Touch Remote
Despite the amazingly simple remotes churned out by the
likes of Harmony and Universal Remote Control, remotes festooned with buttons
continue to baffle, confuse and anger many users. Panasonic demonstrated a
concept called the "Easy Touch Remote" that allows for dual-handed, Wii-style
control over your TV. (Likely without the Wii's constant reminders to put the
remote down and go outside and play. Look, Wii, I'll tell YOU when I'm done!) The
remote automatically adapts to right, left, single or dual handed control
depending on how it is being held. Check out the video to see the remote in
action.-John Sciacca
