Like Samsung, LG has announced a 55-inch OLED display. Like Samsung’s, it looks amazing.

No comparison is possible, given different content, booth lighting, and locations, but for the time being, scroll down for some photos to ogle.

What we know right now: an actual model number! The 55EM9600 is 4mm thick, weighs something like 16 pounds, and uses “white” OLEDs (as opposed to Samsung’s RGB OLEDs). On top of these are color filters of red, green, blue and clear (the latter presumably for added brightness). It’s 1080p and passive 3D. No pricing or availability yet.
