Control4’s MQA Support a First for Home Automation

Control4’s adoption of MQA technology in its just released OS 3 smart-home operating system marks the debut of the high-resolution MQA format in the world of custom home automation.

MQA processing technology, available through Control4’s EA Series controllers and the Triad One Streaming Amplifier from sister company Triad Speakers, enables owners of Control4-equipped smart homes to listen to MQA-encoded music sound throughout the home.

“Entertainment is a key feature of the Control4 Smart Home, and we support a variety of music services, so adding MQA was a natural fit [for adding] better-than-CD quality options for our customers and audio enthusiasts,” said Control4 VP Business & Corporate Development Noel Gouff. “Control4 Smart Home OS 3 brings users new ways to launch and adjust their music, and it’s easy to start listening to their MQA library from their smartphone, touchscreen, or TV remote, even making it a ‘Favorite’ in key rooms in the home.”

MQA founder Bob Stuart, said: “Control4 is simplifying the daily lives of music lovers who want a streamlined, multi-room listening experience. We’re proud to collaborate with Control4 and the growing global ecosystem of partners who believe everyone deserves to hear their favourite music in its original master quality.”
