DirecTV, Panasonic Bow n3D Channel

Look out, 3DTV-owning DirecTV subscribers. You're about to get an eyeful of 3D in a partnership between the satellite operator and Panasonic.

The n3D channel will be dedicated exclusively to 3D. It comes at no extra charge aside from a regular DirecTV subscription. Programming will include this weekend's NASCAR Coke Zero 400, Yanks and Mariners on July 10-11, and the Fox Sports 2010 MLB All-Star Game on July 13.

But there's more to it than sports. Music lovers will get Guitar Center Sessions with Peter Gabriel and Jane's Addiction. Also on the sked are nature programs on everything from dinosaurs to African safaris to IMAX deep-sea adventures.

In addition to n3D, DirecTV is also launching other 3D channels including DirecTV Cinema, ESPN 3D, and DirecTV On Demand.

The DirecTV 3D software upgrade went out last month. It applies to newer set-top boxes; older ones may need to be replaced altogether. You'll also need 3D glasses and a 3DTV, natch.
