In yet another sign of its momentum, music technology company MQA has hired Warner Music executive Mike Jbara to lead the company as CEO and sit on the Board of MQA Ltd.

The company’s signature technology MQA, or Master Quality Authenticated, is an end-to-end technology that captures and delivers studio-master-quality audio in a file small enough to stream or download. As Bob Stuart, inventor of MQA technology explained in an interview with Sound & Vision, “We’ve examined the fundamentals based on the science of how we hear and we’ve managed to put the actual sound of the real event into a sensible size file.”

“We are delighted to have Mike join us to take the helm as MQA moves into this next phase,” said Bob Stuart, chairman of MQA and founder of its sister company Meridian. “Our mission is to improve the quality of distributed music and to help connect artists to fans. I have known Mike professionally for many years and have immense respect for his technical and industry insight and knowledge, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills. Mike is a good friend and we are looking forward to developing the MQA business together.”

Jbara joins MQA from Warner Music Group, where he has held roles as head of ADA Worldwide, president of WEA Corp. and most recently, EVP of technology and business process.
