With the image paused, no one in the room saw anything amiss with the SED display from Toshiba/Canon. But the camera has a different take on things.

The photos I took of the video in motion also produced this artifact to a much lesser degree. Last night, video gurus Geoff Morrison from Home theater and David Ranada from Sound & Vision discussed some theaories while I battled jet lag.
