Hilarious overkill: $148 "audiophile" wall jack
We completely understand the value of expensive equipment. $20,000 tower loudspeakers? If they sound great, totally worth it. $8,000 receiver? If it puts out enough power and has all the features you want, sounds like a steal. $148 power outlet? Now you've lost us.
Hey, don't get us wrong. If it contributes to performance or stability or otherwise does something other, cheaper equipment doesn't, it can be worth it. But this is a power outlet. Identically rated outlets can be found for a fraction of the price, and when the entire purpose of the device is to simply make sure up to 125 volts and up to 20 amps of power are going to your system, you don't really need (nor can you really find) any bells or whistles.
